Traffic and transport

Lansdown Industrial Estate is well located near to Cheltenham town centre, with good access on foot to nearby supermarkets, cafes and other local amenities.

Our proposed development would integrate well into the immediate area via footpaths, cycleways and public transport. The site is close to Cheltenham Spa Railway Station. There are a number of bus routes nearby, as well as cycle and walking connections to the town centre via the Honeybourne Line and Queen’s Road.

Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained between the site and the southern part of the Industrial Estate, encouraging residents to use these as means of getting around and reducing car usage.

We are also exploring other initiatives such as car clubs and electric charging points, which we believe will support Cheltenham Borough Council’s declaration of a climate emergency.

Vehicle access would be via Rowanfield Road only. All sites in Cheltenham’s Local Plan require a robust Transport Assessment at the application stage, identifying traffic impact and determining the highway requirements and its evidence base, in line with the Gloucester, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Joint Core Strategy 2011-2031 (adopted in December 2017).
